I grew up in Northern Ireland and first came to England twenty five years ago to study for a degree in Art. I then trained as a teacher and worked as a lecturer in colleges for ten years, spending time working in the North of England and in Northern Ireland.
I began to study Counselling in the early 1990's and was particularly inspired by my first teacher who had been a student of Carl Rogers'.
After taking several Counselling courses at Queen's University of Belfast, I returned to London to complete a Diploma course and begin working as a Counsellor in various agencies.
Between 2000 and 2006, I was employed as a Counsellor in two London colleges and worked with clients in private practice.
In 2006 I decided to work full-time in my private practice. In addition to my work with clients, I supervise groups of Counsellors for a number of organisations and also work with individual supervisees.
I live with my partner and our rescue dog 'Lady'.
